A Dynamic Security Protocol for the Heterogeneous RFID and Wireless Sensor Network
Nowadays, wireless intelligent systems such as radio frequency identification (RFID) and wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are widely used in numerous applications. However, although both technologies can be used in the physical and the virtual worlds, few integration schemes are investigated. On the other hand, due to the characteristics of RFID, it has to face many attacks, for example reading without authorization, clandestine tracking, wiretap, spurious tag and so on. Therefore, the security is one of most important challenges of RFID. For improving the security and capability of RFID.we integrate RFID with WSN by combining their advantages in this paper. Based on the heterogeneous architecture, we present a dual authentication-based dynamic key (DADK) protocol by using AVL tree mechanism, which can support secure authentication not only on the reader side but on the tag side through real-time dynamic key management. The analysis shows our solution can not only prevent from most attacks but can improve the capability of RFID as well.
