The Design and Realization of SIP Security Method based on S/MIME
A SIP security method consisting of signature and encryption mechanisms is proposed for the End-to-End security of SIP in this paper. And then, a design and realization according to this SIP security mechanism is carried out. This security method introduces a new idea which the function of S/MIME is migrated to SIP user agent in order to protect SIP message header and message body during the user agents End-to-End communication. At last, simulation and testing are applied to analyze the performance of SIP security method by our testing platform established in this paper. Simulation and testing results prove the SIP security method can insure the integrality SIP message header and message body and realize the expected security effect. At the same time, the SIP security method proposed in this paper has the high feasibility and application flexibility.
