An Improved Algorithm of Mitigating NLOS Error for Mobile Location
In wireless systems, the LOS path which connects the BS and MS is often blocked and the communications are conducted through reflecting, diffracting and scattering rays due to the interaction with objects in the propagation environment. This phenomenon leads to big bias in the TOA & TDOA estimations and finally causes errors in location estimation. In this paper, a new method is proposed to mitigate the NLOS error and bias the range measurements to their true values for location estimation algorithm operation. The simulation results show that the method can effectively improve the location precision and reach E-911 requirements.
