Optimal Parameters Design of Nc-Ofdm Systems in Cognitive Radios with the Nonlinearity of High Power Amplifier
As an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-based spectrum pooling technique, non-continuous OFDM (NC-OFDM is one of main data transmission mode in cognitive radios. The non-orthogonality between secondary users (SUs) and primary users (PUs) and the nonlinearity of High power amplifier (HPA) cause severe interference to PUs, which has been the toughest problem in OFDM-based cognitive radios. A mathematical model for measuring the out-of-band (OOB) radiation in NC-OFDM systems and the interference to the adjacent PUs is presented in this paper. Based on this mathematical model, the optimal parameters of NC-OFDM systems including the number of guard subcarriers and the subcarrter spacing are obtained for guaranteeing PCs reliable communication and SUs high frequency utilization simultaneously. Numerical simulation results agree withe the theoretical analysis.
