Using Curvelet Transform for Contrast Enhancement of Digital Mammogram
The paper first introduces the concept of discrete curvelet transform. Then a kind of nonlinear enhancing function is applied to enhance the details of mammography at each scale in the curvelet subbands. In the results section, the effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated by performance metrics. Experimental results show that the proposed method is superior to wavelet bases enhancement, it can emphasize significant features in mammography and improve the visualization of breast pathology.
