Path Loss Modeling of Mobile Communication Channel Based on ANN

There are two types of fading pattern in mobile communications: large-scale fading and small-scale fading. Path loss and shadow fading belong to large-scale fading, while multi-path fading belongs to small-scale fading. Artificial neural networks are nonlinear dynamic system with the property of parallel information processing, adaptable processing and excellent learning and imitation. In this paper, on the basis of studying on the technique of artificial neural network based modeling method, path loss modeling of mobile communication channel based on ANN has been realized, according to MIMO channel environment simulation parameters provided by 3GPP standards. The simulation results indicate that artificial neural networks with the property of self-adaptive are effective for path loss modeling.
