Intelligent IDPS-based Wireless Network Security
Wireless network has opened a new and exciting world for many of us. Its technology is advancing and changing every day and its popularity is increasing. The biggest concern with this network, however has been it security .Although some Intrusion Prevention Systems have recently appeared on the market; their intrusion detection capabilities are limited .Real intrusion detection and prevention in wireless networks is not a simple add on. In this article, we first overview the background material characteristics and functionality required in wireless network. Then we present the framework of the wireless IDPS 12 with an intelligent plan recognition and decision engine , especially illustrates the need for plan recognition 13 in WLAN. By importing supporting degree of intrusion plan, this engine can predict the future attacks and directly respond to these actions. We present the security capabilities from the information gathering process to an improved model for conducting plan recognition. Experimental results showed that this Intelligent Plan Recognition and decision Engine can not only detect and prevent the main wireless network threats but also decreases false positives.
