PLS and Kernel-based Nonlinear Representor for Face Recognition

This paper presents a face recognition method, wherein features are extracted successively with fast Fourier transform and the partial least squares to extract discriminative features, and classification results are obtained by a classifier based on the closed-form solution of kernelbased nonlinear representor for avoiding the quadratic programming proceduce of a nonlinear SVM. Experimental results on the ORL face database demonstrate the effectiveness of the presented scheme.
