Enhancement of Medical Images in the Curvelet Domain

摘要：

In this paper, we discuss the application of the curvelet transform for enhancing medical images. Contrast enhancement is accomplished by applying local range modification on curvelet coefficients. The processed image is derived by reconstruction from the modified curvelet coefficients. The proposed method is implemented to medical images and evaluated by the contrast improvement index. Results show that our method can emphasize significant features in medical images and improve the visualization of pathology.
