Mobility Based Blocking Expanding Ring Search for Energy Efficient Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

We propose a Mobility Based Blocking Expanding Ring Search (MBERS) protocol, a new set of power aware routing algorithms with energy and time efficiency. MBERS aims to increase the lifetime of networks through monitoring the Time Of Life (TOL) and applying the maximized energy route techniques and to decrease the energy consumption through adaptive optimal transmission power techniques. In addition, MBERS is designed to address the drawback of the Blocking Expanding Ring Search (BERS) protocol which is not suitable for dynamic mobile situation. We have compared MBERS protocols with BERS and the traditional Expanding Ring Search (ERS) protocols. Our results show that MBERS has achieved a prominent performance in terms of energy and time efficiency in comparison to BERS and ERS.
