Direct and Indirect Energy Demands and CO2 Emissions from Production Activities in Jiangsu Province in 2007
In order to investigate energy demands and CO2 emissions from production activities in Jiangsu Province in detail, we analyzed the direct and indirect amounts of energy demands and CO2 emissions by 26 sectors in Jiangsu Province in 2007. An environmental input-output table (EIOT) was constructed based on the 2007 monetary input-output table of Jiangsu Province. And eacb sectors energy demands and CO2 emissions were treated as external multipliers. Subsequently, each sectors direct and indirect effects on energy demands and CO2 emissions in 2007 are studied. It is indicated that Jiangsu Province should focus on three points in future development: industrial structure changes, technology development and renewable energy utilization. At last future work for the EIOT was discussed.
