Numerical Simulation of Hydraulic Characteristic of Oxidation Ditch with New Corrugated Board Guide Wall
Based on the Navier-Stokes equations and the k-ε turbulent flow model, the numerical simulation was carried out for the water flows by using CFD program FLUENT. A new corrugated board structure in the oxidation ditch is proposed and the flow pattern and flow velocity distribution is calculated by using numerical simulation. The extended guide wall and the non-extended guide wall are also compared by using numerical simulation. The results show that vortex behind the non-extended guide wall in oxidation ditch was the largest, and vortex behind the flat guide wall was the smallest. Seen from the perspective of reducing vortex, the velocity distribution of water flow in corrugated board oxidation ditch was the best. The new corrugated board structure will reduce the low water flow areas behind wall in oxidation ditch and improve the role of eliminating sludge deposition.
