Environment Policy : Tighten or Loosen ?——A Case Study of China Textile and Clothing Industry
Does a much strict environment policy do good or harm to the competitiveness of certain industry, especially to a export-oriented country like Cbina. Taking the textile and clothing industry for example, this paper analyzes the industry competitiveness via TC and RCA, and establishes an estimative index system of the intensity of environmental protection - EPS. By determining the coefficients between EPS and TC or RCA of China Textile and clothing industry, finally it shows that there is no regular relation between the intensity of environmental protection and the international competitiveness of the industry.
