Determination of 1-Naphthylamine by Flow Injection Chemiluminescence

Chemiluminescence reaction of 1-naphthylamine (NAP) with potassium permanganate in the presence of formaldehyde as an enhancer was investigated. A new chemiluminescence (CL) method for the determination of 1naphthylamine with flow injection tecbnique was developed. The linear range for 1-naphthylamine is 5.Ox108 - 8.Ox10Smol/L with a detection limit of 7.6x10-9 mol/L, and the relative standard deviation (n=11) is 3.6%.The method has been used to determine the content of 1-naphthylamine in real water with satisfactory results.
