Probbility Characteristics of Auto-corelation Distance of Soil Parameters

The stability of foundation depends on spatial average property of soil in some area, so the spatial variability of soil parameters need be considered in the processing of probability analysis. Soil spatial variability is related to sod point variability witb the reduction factor of variance in random field theory, while the reduction factor of variance depends on both sod auto-correlation distance and spatial area. So auto-correlation distance is the key to the study on spatial characteristic. A systematic study is carried out on the peculiarities of auto-correlation distance of soil parameters in construction field. According to the datum of static cone penetration test curve. Different ways to obtain auto correlation distance are compared by large calculation. The sampling space effect on auto-correlation distance is studied. The feasibility of calculation horizontal autocorrelation distance by using of shear wave velocity is discussed The peculiarities of auto-correlation distance of soil parameters are obtained by comparing of auto-correlation distance of different soil parameters and by comparing between vertical and horizontal auto-correlation distance of the same soil parameters. It has been shown that the autocorrelation distance of soil parameters has the peculiarity of transversely cross-isotropy.
