Preparation and Properties of Low-cost a-Sialon Ceramic Synthesized from Boron-rich Slag-based Mixture

摘要：

With boron-rich slag,silica fume,bauxite chalmette and carbon black as starting materials,a-sialon powder was prepared by carbothermal reduction nitridation(CRN).The mechanical properties of hot-pressed sintered slag a-sialon ceramic,which was started from slag a-sialon powder,were measured.The hardness,toughness and bend strength of hot-pressed slag a-sialon ceramic reached 17GPa,3.74MPa·m1/2 and 333.5MPa,respectively.These properties were close to that of chemical a-sialon ceramics prepared by expensive chemical agents as starting materials.
