From Interpersonal International Communication——To Global Understanding
1 Introduction I would like to begin my paper with references to an appeal to future generations by IIya Prigozhin, an outstanding contemporary scholar,a Renaissance-type personality, but first and foremost a physicist and philosopher, and a Nobel Prize laureate (Prigozhin, 2002). Speaking about the modern world s tendency towards globalization, he warned of possible negative consequences for the worlds civilizations as a result of this complex process, and called for a careful and protective attitude towards eternal human values in an epoch when new relations are being so imperiously established. In particular, he saw the task of future generations as being to find the narrow path between globalization and the preservation of cultural pluralism.
