Technology Use in E. F. L. Teaching and Learning

New communication and information technolo gies are becoming, nowadays, major resources for teaching and learning foreign languages. A variety of technological tools are being used throughout our uni versities. These include computer and video uses, and telecommunication technologies like virtual teaching. The use of these different technologies has, in fact, transformed the way teachers make assignments, gen erate discussion, and ask the students to do research and disseminate information about their courses. In the same way, they have made difficult subjects more accessible to the students. Interestingly, the introduc tion of online technology in the class allows the students to become more consistently prepared and willing to enter into class discussion. The present work will, then be an attempt to identify some of the most effective and appropriate ways of using technological tools in E. F. L. teaching. The work will also be an answer to the following questions: what factors need to be in place to support an effective use of technology? What resources can instructors use to plan for a technology that would have a positive impact on the students achievements? And to what extent is technology keen on promoting the students performances?
