English as the Language of Chinese Academic Community

摘要：

There are several political and cultural phenome na currently changing the face of China. It is obvious that the trend of globalization, a dimensional, highly complex process with contradictory forms and complex effects that can be felt everywhere. In linguistic re spect , the following features are relevant:the relatively easy migration of population, because people want to seize good opportunities to better their life or because they try to escape war or disease or poverty. This paper will present an analysis of the role of English in Chinese academy and in particular the situ ation at Beijing Union University, a large well-known university with approximately 100000 students at the school.
