The Robust Link between Spectral Evolution and Spectral Lag of Gamma-ray Bursts

We have investigated the connection between the various evolution of rest frame spectral pararaeters and the spectral lag measured in gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) using a Doppler model of fireball. Assuming an intrinsic Band shape spectrum and an intrinsic energy-independent emission profile we find the evolution of Band spectral parameters alone can produce the observed lags. Moreover, hard-to-soft evolution produce the positive lag. Whereas the negative lags occur in the case of spectral parameters change from soft to hard. The less popular soft-to-hard-to-soft evolution also produce both the observed positive and negative lags. A sample including 30 8ingle pulses whose spectral evolution follow hardto-soft and soft-hard-to-soft have been investigated. The lags of these pulses are in good agreement with our theoretical predictions.
