New Analysed Orbits of Southern Double-Iined Spectroscopic Binary Systems
A recent research program conducted at Mt John University Observatory is to study the orbits of southem spectroscopic binary systems using a high-precision HERCULES spectrograph (Hearnshaw et al. 2004). In this paper, orbital solutions of four double-lined spectroscopic binary systems will be present. These systems are HD3405, HD77137, HD155555, and HD197649. The previous orbital solutions, as pub lished in the 9th catalogue of the orbital elements of spectroscopic binary system (SB9; Pourbaix et al. 2004), of these systems have large standard deviation, approximately 3 - 4 kms-l. The radial velocities of these systems are measured from the HERCULES spectra using the TODCOR code (Zucker & Mazeh 1994). We are able to achieve the orbital solutions of these systems with much higher precision than that were published.
