Molecular Outflows around 6.7 GHz Methanol Masers
With the aim to investigate the structure and dynamics of outflows associ ated with massive star forming regions, mapping observations of 12CO (1-0) were made toward thirteen relatively nearby 6.7 GHz methanol masers with the Nobeyama 45 m radio telescope. At the high spatial resolution of 15or 21, outflows were detected in twelve out of thirteen sources. Eight of them clearly show bipolar outflow morpholo gies. Some of them show much finer structures than detected with low resolution ob servations. These outflows have significantly more mass and kinetic energy than their low-mass counterparts. The high detection rate of outflows toward methanol masers suggests that the outflow phase of massive protostars encompasses the methanol maser phase.
