Characteristics of the Spectral Hardness Evolution in Gamma-ray Pulse

Using a theoretical model where the Doppler effect of the expanding fireball surface is the key factor concemed, we investigate the evolution of the observed peak energy Ep of the νfν spectrum and find that the Ep during the decay phase of the light curve pulse where the Doppler effect dominates, always monotonously decays following by the law of Ep χ t-l, regardless of whether rest-frame spectral hardness is softening or hardening, indicating that the Doppler effect conceals the information of the intrinsic spectrum. Investigation of 12 FRED pulses shows that the evolutionary characteristics of the Ep are in good agreement with our prediction.
