Very Radio-loud Narrow Line Seyfert 1 Active Galactic Nuclei

Narrow line Seyfert 1 (NLS1) galaxies with strong radio emission are among the least studied classes of the active galactic nuclei (AGN) population. Here we summarise the multi-wavelength properties of very radio-loud (RL) NLSI AGNs, based on a comprehensive study of a sample found from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS), which was published in Yuan et al. (2008). We found that some of these objects show interesting properties commonly seen in blazars, and we interpret them as arising from multi-wavelength emission from at least moderately relativistic jets. The black hole masses are estimated to be within 106-8 M(o), and the Eddington ratios close to unity, as in normal NLsi AGN. The results imply that radioloud AGNs may be powered by black holes of moderate masse8 (106- r M(o)) accreting at high rates.
