1.The Integration of Stylistics and Intensive Reading 1.1 The present situation of Intensive Reading in China English Reading courses in universities in China can be classified into Intensive Reading and Extensive Reading, and the former has been given special attention for English majors for many years.The time allocated to this course is more than any other courses (4-8 class hours each week) , and students also pay much attention to this course.In fact, it is a comprehensive course of listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translating ( Dong, 2006).
