Outage probability and average capacity research on wireless optical communication over turbulence channel
Atmospheric turbulence leads to the optical intensity fluctuation during the optical signal transmission; its influence has been a big barrier to the popularity of wireless optical communication. Based on the different optical intensity fluctuation distribution channel model over atmospheric turbulence, the mathematical statistic model of outage probability and average channel capacity is founded, and the influencing factor of reliability on atmospheric structure constant of refractive index and the length of link is researched. The simulation results show that the performance will degrade with the increasing of the normalized threshold signal-to-noise ratio and communication distance. The average channel capacity decreases by the increasing of the turbulence strength. Along with the receiver average electrical SNR increases, channel capacity under weak turbulence growth rates significantly greater than strong turbulence.
