Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography based on a thermal light source with Gaussian spectral calibration
A new technique of spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) with a thermal light source having the center wavelength of 590nm and the full width half maximum (FWHM) of 237nm is introduced in this paper. A Gaussian spectral calibration procedure has been performed onto the original source spectrum before reconstructing the OCT image. A film interface extraction procedure is used to locate the interface precisely. Two-dimensional (2D) tomography image of a polystyrene film with thickness of 76μm was obtained. The major advantage of the proposed technique is the high quality and acquiring speed of OCT image.
