Disaster Risk Management under Climate Change: Challenges and Responses
Natural disasters wreak havoc and cause tremendous loss of property all over the world. Most of natural disasters are either due to weather change or weather related processes. In the context of climate change, the frequency, intensity and scope of weather-related natural hazards will change, which poses new challenges to the disaster risk management. The paper introduces the facts and projections of climate change, analyzes the impacts of climate change on natural disasters, and puts forward some suggestions on disaster risk management. As a result, it will help policy makers and public to respond to the challenges of global climate change from an emergency management perspective.
