Gorvernment Support and Organic Farming in Thailand
Organic agriculture has promoted by Thai government for very long time however it still slowly changes in development. Thus, to obtain the factors which influence farmer to crop the organic farming is significantly required for the future development of Thailand organic agriculture. This study used 2009 census data from the Community Development Department, Ministry of Interior, and Tobit regression analysis technique to identify factors which affect farmer to grow organic farming. The empirical results show that the variables, including average farm size, government training programs, community agricultural infrastructure and learning center, local product market, household income, population, and education, are significant factors to explain the variation of organic farming in Thailand.
