Risk Mitigation in IT Outsourcing Strategy in Chinese Commercial Banks: Case Research at DQM

摘要：

Today most small and middle-scaled commercial banks use outsourcing to maintenance and develop their Information Technology (IT) systems,then IT outsourcing risk is one of the biggest risks in commercial banks. The paper describes types of risk in IT outsourcing and how the banks sought to mitigate these risks. Risks emerging in terms of vendor selection criteria and process,the role of the contract,and retained capabilities and management processes. Finally,the implications of these findings for future banks outsourcing practice are highlighted.
