The Initiation and Application of the Weather Future for Dispersing the Weather Risk in Chinese Agriculture
Recently, there are an increasing number of the agricultural losses caused by the natural disasters. Because of the limited fiscal expenditure used for natural disaster relief, the ways that the agricultural workers used for dealing with the risk should go to market. Therefore, our agriculture badly needs various financial instruments to disperse the risk. Based on the introduction of the weather derivatives market abroad and the analysis of the initiation and application of the weather derivatives in China, the paper will design a temperature index future contract suitable for Chinese condition, diversifying the means for agricultural workers to disperse the weather risk.
