STUDY ON FIBROUS MEIDA PREPARED BY PHYSICOCHEMICAL MODIFICATION OF WHEAT STRAW
This paper mainly focused on a kind of low pollution and high yield rate wheat straw pulping technology. Wheat straw was modified by chemical pretreatment in conditions of lower alkali number, lower hydrogen peroxide, lower temperature and ordinary pressure. The modification made the soluble material in wheat straw dissolved out, at the same time the lignin was soften. Through the mechanical squeeze and grinding, fiber bundles bonded by lignin were refined into single fibers under the action of mechanical force. The main approach of the chemical modification is the synergistic effect of sodium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide. When wheat straw mixed with the solution of hot alkaline peroxide of 75℃~85℃, lignin was softened and extractions of low molecular weight dissolved out due to the effect of immersion, swelling and permeation of the medical solution. The pulp discolored into white pulp maybe because of the affinity interaction of hydrogen peroxide with lignin. Under these conditions, the white pulp was separated into coarse fiber by screw extrusion, further thermal-mechanical treatment of shives can make a good fibrous media. The yield rate reached 63.0%. Paper made of this kind of fibrous media could reach brightness of 70.1%,the breaking length of paper reached 4.5km~7.0km, tearing index 3.2mN.m2/g, bursting index 4.2kPa.m2/g, folding endurance 200 times.
