P-RC APMP LINES AT SUN PAPER GROUP
Being one of the largest privately owned and managed paper companies and the largest producer of premium coated packaging board in China, Sun Paper Group operates 23 paper machines with a total capacity of 2.5 million tons per year. It started up its first hardwood chemi-mechanical pulping line in 2008, second one in 2009, and had ordered a third line which is scheduled to start up in April, 2011. All three lines were designed based on different options of P-RC APMP technology. With a total designed capacity of ~1900t/d, Sun Paper Group has grown from absence into one of major hardwood chemi-mechanical pulp producers in China in a short period of 4 year. This paper gives an introduction of 3 P-RC APMP lines at Sun Paper Group, with focus mainly on results from the 2nd P-RC APMP line. This 2nd line has 2-stage chip impregnation system, and was successful in producing pulps for high quality paper board products from difficult hardwood blend of acacia and eucalyptus (typically 70％ acacia and 30％ eucalyptus). Pulp qualities were all met well with requirement from the paper board machines. The 3rd P-RC APMP line was designed for high brightness (up to 86％ISO) and low freeness LWC grade pulp from 100％ eucalyptus. To meet this high brightness requirement and to improve bleaching efficiency, 2-stage inter-stage bleaching system was used.
