STUDY ON HIGH-YIELD PULP TECHNOLOGY OF COTTON STALK
The pretreatment and pulping technology of high-yield cotton pulp were investigated in this paper. The results of pretreatment indicate that the tightness and the breaking length of the pulp achieve the maximum value when the loading of penetrating agent is 1%. Furthermore, the quality of paperboard from the pulp made by the combination of twin screw extruder and high consistency disc refiner is better than that made by two-stage high consistency refiner. In comparison with those from the latter, the tightness, breaking length and the ring crush index of the pulp made by the former increased by 10%, approximately. The fiber length of the pulp made by the combination of twin screw extruder and high consistency disc refiner is also longer than those made by two-stage high consistency refiner. Besides, the introduction of twin screw extruder in pulping process can save water by approximately 30%. The combination of twin screw extruder and high consistency refiner favors the pulp quality, economics and environmental protection.
