THE INFLUENCES OF PRETREATMENT OF MASSON WOOD CHIPS BY CELLULASES ON PULP PROPROPERTIES OF FIBER CHARACTERISTICS OF MECHANICAL PULP
The character of mechanical pulp of Masson wood include with not only the high yield, good bulkiness, fine stiffness and excellent optical performance, good printability, but also the higher strength properties. In order to increase the use of mechanical pulp and produce high-grade paper, a lot of research and patent show that the strength and the optical properties of mechanical pulp would be further improved using the corresponding enzyme to pretreatment the raw materials before refining. The effects of complex cellulases pre-treatment on Masson wood mechanical pulp were investigated. The pretreatment conditions is the dosage of enzyme were 75 IU/g (to bone dry chips), temperature 50 , ℃ time 150min, pH value 5.5 and pulp concentration 15%. The tensile strength, burst strength and tear strength increased. The brightness and opacity increased too. The change of fiber morphology during the refining with cellulases pretreatment process was investigated in this paper, with scanning electron microscope (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The results showed fiber cell were weakened, and the fibrillation and swelling of the fibers were improved.
