STUDY ON TETRA ACETYL ETHYLENE DIAMINE ASSISTED PEROXIDE BLEACHING OF MASSON PINE MECHANICAL PULPS
During Tetra Acetyl Ethylene Diamine (TAED) assisted Peroxide Bleaching of Masson pine Mechanical Pulps, the H2O2 bleaching process of CTMP on masson pine was systematically studied in this paper. It was indicated that TAED assisted H2O2 bleaching compared to conventional H2O2 bleaching was with many advantages, such as shorter bleaching time, higher bleaching brightness. The results showed that the best conditions of the H2O2 bleaching process of CTMP on masson pine were as follows: 15% pulp consistency; H2O2 4%; NaOH 4%; Na2SiO3 3%; MgSO4 0.05%; EDTA 0.5%; TAED and Hydrogen peroxide (ratio) 0.3; bleaching temperature 75℃; bleaching time 1.5h. With 0.2% NaBH4, pretreatment process was adopted before bleaching. At the same temperature, it was effectively improved the brightness of H2O2 bleached pulp by adding TAED. The brightness of TAED assisted H2O2 bleached pulp was declined with the reducing of bleaching temperature, but compared to conventional H2O2 bleaching; it also could generate the similar brightness even at low temperature instead of high temperature. Therefore, it should be pay more attention to TAED assisted peroxide bleaching of masson pine mechanical pulps at low temperature due to less cost of energy.
