THE PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY OF IVORY BOARD BASED ON HIGH-LOW FREENESS APMP PULPS
The aspen APMP was beaten using PFI refiner, and the effects of beating on fiber morphology and quality, papermaking performance were studied through optical microscope and Fiber Quality Analyzer (FQA). The high/low freeness pulps were mixed to the same level of the secondary refining pulp, and then the papermaking performance of the mixed pulp was compared with that of the secondary refining pulp. A group of mixed pulp with better papermaking performance was selected, under the ratio of which the Ivory Board was laminated. The result showed that: with the milling degree improved, fiber length decreased, while fiber curl index and kink index increased first and then decreased, and the fines content increased. The PFI refining had an excellent performing: fibers in crushing, silking and brooming have become more important compared with fibers cut off. The thickness of the mixed pulp had an increased tendency to that of the secondary refining pulp, with the tensile index and internal bond strength having the different impact. The laminated paper properties had a general increase except tensile strength.
