Reliable Life Estimation under Ranked Set Sampling
This paper considers nonparametric estimation of reliable life based on a ranked set sample. For any fixed set size in the ranked set sampling the strong consistency and the asymptotic normality of the reliable life estimator are established. Then, it is proofed analytically the large sample efficiency of the reliable life estimator under the ranked set sampling is higher than that under the simple random sampling of the same size. Finally, we make a practical application for a data set related to conifer trees.
