Reliability Analysis of A Complex System with Three Modes of Failure under Waiting Attended by Two Repairmen with Different Skills

This paper studies a complex system consisting of two subsystems in series configuration. Two repairmen having different skills and efficiency are involved in the repairing of the system. One repairman always available for service whereas other remains in vacation, who is called for repairing as per requirements. The system suffers from three types of failures namely minor, major and complex-major. In case of complex mazor failure expert repairman is called for epairing. Whenever both repairmen are involved in repair, the copula technique is applied to obtain the joint probability distribution. The failure rates of units are assumed to be statistically independent. All repairs follow general repair time distribution. Using supplementa ry variable technique, Laplace technique and GumbelHougaard family of copula incorporating the concept of waiting time the transition state probabilities, steady state probabilities, reliability availability, cost analysis and MTTF of the system have been evaluated. Finally numerical examples have been given to illustrate the theoretical result of the model and investigate the effect of various system parameters to reliability measures of the system.
