Optimal Maintenance of Aircraft
As airframe has finite lifetime and has to be designed lightweight, the maintenance of airframe is indispensable to operate aircraft without any serious troubles. Four echelons preventive maintenance (PM) is undergone for commercial aviation. In this paper, two PM policies are considered. A part of the cumulative hazard function after PMs becomes zero. The airframe failure during operation is not so serious and the failure rate remains undisturbed by repair. The expected cost rate of airframe maintenance is secured and the optimal PM number which minimizes it is discussed. (Submited to invited Session: Engineering Applications in Reliability)
