Waiting Time Distributions of Patterns Involving Homogenous Markov Dependent Trials: GERT Approach
Probability generating functions of waiting time distributions of runs and patterns have been studied and utilized in various areas of statistics and applied probability. In this paper, we investigate the probability generating functions of the waiting time distributions of lst and mth overlapping and non-overlapping occurrences of the pattern Ak = SFF...FS > i.e.,Pair of successes separated by a run of failures of length , k > 0, involving Homogenous Markov dependent trials using Graphical Evaluation and Review Technique (GERT). GERT besides providing visual picture of the process helps to analyze it in a less inductive manner.
