A Novel Performance-Related Network Reliability Metrics Based on Traffic Characteristics

By discussing network inherent failure mechanism, and selecting appropriate parameters as evaluation basis, this paper put forward the novel delay-based reliability and throughput-based performance-related reliability metrics to measure ability of the network to perform its required functions under stated conditions for a specific period of time. Furthermore, this paper establishes real network traffic model and the network reliability model based on network performance. Then, this paper deeply analyzes the impact of different parameters on network performance-related reliability, such as structure-related parameters, the protocol-related parameters, the mission-related parameters, network traffic characteristics , and system resource allocation coefficient.
