A Streetlights Controlling System Based on the Energy-Saving Hierarchical Model
With the accelerated process of urbanization in China, the contradiction between the limited energy supply and the growing energy consumption is being intensified gradually. This paper aims to establish a hierarchical control model for the energy-saving management of large-scale street lighting systems. Based on this model, a layered energy-saving streetlights controlling system was developed with GPRS/ZigBee wireless communication network. Furthermore, an algorithm was proposed and realized to analyze the energy-saving efficiency of the control system. This study makes a big contribution to improve the efficiency of street lighting systems and to reduce their energy consumption and maintenance costs.
