Product Feature Usability Analysis Based on Web Semantic Mining
Product feature usability is an evaluation indicator of customer satisfaction with product features and functions. It is also a crucial considering factor for manufacturers to update and redesign their products features and functions to satisfy their customers. Questionnaire is a traditional method widely used in product feature usability analysis. In fact, it is a labor intensive and time-consuming one. And the effect of questionnaire analysis is usually influenced by limited sample number and the authenticity of answers. Nowadays, with the rapid expansion of Web, more and more customers tend to use it to express their opinions on productsfeatures and functions. As a result, the number of reviews a product receives grows rapidly. This paper aims to analyze product feature usability by mining Chinese customer reviews. A novel method based on Web semantic mining, instead of questionnaire, is proposed to analyze product feature usability. Firstly, the useful information for product feature usability analysis, such as customer reviews of products, is extracted from Webs based on the semantic mining technology with an information system. Then the product feature usability is calculated by an evaluation model. Finally, we use a Nokia mobile phone as a case to validate the method proposed.
