The Management Methods for Operating Room to Speed up the Turnover of Operating Table to Reduce the Average Length of Stay
In this paper, by collecting and analyzing the annual operations number, average number of operations per operation table each day and length of stay from year 2003 to year 2008, the retrospective analysis was used to analysis the appropriate indicators. We found operation room management is a key part to short the average length of stay in hospital management. The turnover of operating table in operating room can be improved through process reengineering, arrangement for barrier-free operation, people-oriented management, safe operating room and so on. Hence improving the turnover of operating table and its efficiency to short the average length of stay is a very important way of hospital management.
