Developing and Validating Methods for Evaluating User Value

This study proposes methods for evaluating user value, one of the most important factors influencing the users daily experience. A case study using a commercial smart phone was conducted to investigate the reliability and validity of the methods. To obtain the results, four evaluation methods were proposed through a literature survey, including rating supported by the projective technique, functionality evaluation, fuzzy concept-based rating, and developing relevant criteria. The results showed that three of the methods, excluding fuzzy conceptbased rating, had high reliability and validity. It is expected that these results will help product and service developers obtain feedback on their design alternatives.
