A New Stage in the Development of Industrial Engineering: Neuro-Industrial Engineering--Based on the Human-Oriented Perspective
Based on the studies of predecessors and the humanoriented perspective in different stages, this article has reviewed the development of Industrial Engineering and pointed out the new problems faced by the existing theories in modern production process. According to the idea and the methodology of NeuroIndustrial Engineering (Neuro-IE) suggested by Ma, et al. , in 2006, this article extends the applied branches of NeuroIE based on the combination of the neural information of human brain reaction to the production environment and process. Meanwhile, the differences between traditional IE and NeuroIE are discussed in somewhat details. Moreover, the basic hypotheses separately underlying the both IE, i. e. the cornerstones of the both IE, are also compared. NeuroIE which reflects the concept of human-oriented is a new generation of IE. It must have an important long-term influence on the manufacturing in the future.
