ESTIMATION OF RESPONSE TIME FOR GROUND AMBULANCE TRANSPORT
Response time is a key factor to determine the quality of prehospital emergency medical service. We propose a method to estimate the response times based on a classified road network. The method takes into account different attributes that depend on road type, category, surface and class. Comparison of measured times and calculated values shows that the estimated response times are optimistically inclined and situations in a real traffic would probably be worse. The results can thus safely be used to identify areas where emergency system is likely to be insufficient.
