SIMULATION MODELING AND PARAMETER OPTIMIZATION IN CYCLIC PICKING SYSTEM
Picking efficiency critically depends on the use of appropriate picking strategy and facility parameter of picking system. The purpose of this paper is thus to propose a cycling transport picking strategy and methods of optimization of system parameters. As there are many random factors in picking system, so it is not suitable to adopt mathematical method to solve it. In this paper, based on the cycling transport strategy, computer simulation is first employed to build the model of picking system. Then factorial DOE (design of experiments) analysis is used to determine which facility parameter has a statistically significant effect on the picking efficiency. At last it applied optimization analysis which base on evolution strategy determine the best set of facility parameter. This paper also included analysis of picking system in distribution center that examined the significant effect of this method.
