EFFECT OF SODIUM DITHIONITE ADDED XYLANASE PRETREATMENT ON STRUCTURE OF ENZYMATIC/ACIDOLYSIS LIGNIN IN SODA-AQ WHEAT STRAW PULP

Sodium dithionite added xylanase pretreatment (X/R) could enhance the peroxide bleaching efficiency of Soda-AQ wheat straw pulp. The aim of this study was to analyze the structural changes of Enzymatic/Acidolysis Lignin (EMAL) in pulps using Pyrolysis Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometty (PyGC-MS) and 13C-NMR. The results demonstrated that linkages between xylan and syringyl(S) or guaiacyl(G) units in lignin were preferentially reacted with xylanase in the X/R pretreatment process, and C linking with β-O-4 or C2 and C6 of lignin units were rather reactive to xylanase. FTIR spectra showed that elimination of aliphatic bonds and phenolic hydroxyl groups in EMAL happened during X/R pretreatment process.
